Baylor suspends junior receiver Josh Gordon

22 July, 2011

Baylor has suspended big-play receiver Josh Gordon indefinitely, the school announced late Saturday.

“Josh has been suspended from our program for team rules violations,” coach Art Briles said in a statement that did not provide any timetable for a possible return. “This disciplinary action, as all past and future actions, will be handled internally.”

Gordon, a 6-4 and 220-pound junior, finished with 42 receptions in a breakout 2010 season. He led the Bears in yards per catch (17.0) and receiving touchdowns (seven). Gordon started five games and made the longest reception in school history, a 94-yard TD against Kansas.
