College notebook: E.J. Stoltzfus named to Colonial Athletic Association’s All-Rookie baseball team
The University of Delaware’s E.J. Stoltzfus was selected to the Colonial Athletic Conference All-Rookie baseball team.
The walk-on batted .331 in 37 games, including 27 starts, for the Blue Hens.
He had a season-high nine-game hitting streak from April 9-30 and had at least one hit in six of the seven games prior to that streak.
Rowan University’s Steven Melchiorre was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association’s All-Region third team.
In 10 starts, he went 6-1 with a 2.56 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 63� innings. He limited hitters to a .266 batting average and was 51st in NCAA Division III in ERA.
East Stroudsburg freshman Chris Knott finished the season with a .281 batting average, seven doubles, two triples, two home runs, 26 runs and 27 RBIs, third most on the team.
Women’s lacrosse
The College of New Jersey’s Alex Spark made the NCAA Division III All-Tournament team. She netted two goals in the semifinals and seven total in the tournament.
Women’s track and field
Rowan’s Jena Peacock finished 16th in the 3,000 steeplechase at the NCAA Division III championships.
