Texas Tech women’s golf advances to NCAA Regionals

24 April, 2011

Texas Tech athletics announced its women’s golf team advanced to an NCAA regional appearance for the second time in as many seasons after being picked as the No. 15 seed in the NCAA East Regional in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Lady Raiders will tee off May 5 and play will continue play at Daytona Beach through May 7.

Texas Tech finished sixth in the Big 12 Championship this past weekend and the Lady Raiders are one of seven Big 12 teams to advance beyond league play.

The top eight teams from Daytona Beach and top two individuals will advance to the NCAA Championships May 18 through May 21 at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. If Texas Tech advances to Bryan, it would be the first time in program history after just missing the NCAA Championships last season as a ninth-place finisher in a NCAA regional.
